Emergency First Response Automated External
Defibrillation (AED) Course

The Emergency First Response Automated External Defibrillation (AED) course builds on the skills learned in the Primary Care (CPR) course to teach the proper AED use.  This life saving device can increase a patient's chance of survival from a cardiac arrest by fifty percent.
 
During this course you'll review the basic principles of Primary Care (CPR) and learn how to deploy and use an AED in an emergency situation.

What Do I need to Start?
  • No dive certification required.  Course is opened to divers as well as non-divers
  • No minimum age limit
What will I do?
  • The course incorporates independent study to prepare you for a classroom and hands-on skill development session with your instructor.  You will learn the same patient care techniques used by medical professionals, but at a lay person level.
How long will it take?
  • Depending on the amount of independent study and the class size, the Emergency First Response CPR / AED may be completed in 3 to 4 hours.
What will I need?
  • CPR / AED Student Crew Pak
  • CPR / AED Video
Equipment Needed?
  • None Required -- Pocket Mask with Oxygen Port recommended
